Spot Sale on collected Babylon 5 TV show…

Until they run out of sets, Amazon is spot selling the entire five season, 30 disc set of Babylon 5 for $106, 65% off the list price. I never really caught up with the show (I was watching at the time the reportedly similar Deep Space Nine), but I know it has its fans. I think there were also some TV movies after the show ended, but those are NOT included here.

Reportedly similar to Deep Snore Nine is not an acurate statement.

Babylon 5 is a complete story from the pilot (no included in current special) to the final episode, just like a big novel. You can watch just a few for the action, but the big picture really requires you to see it all. I’d be like reading about the battle of Hornburg in The Two Towers and then not reading any of the rest. If you want to see something really epic and well done, get this, I paid full price last year. D’oh! If you just want to watch a meaningless hour of sci crap you can catch DS9 reruns.

Marsden would like to apologize for being so overly critical of Deep Space Nine, but when that show is compared as similar to Babylon 5, it causes a bad reaction.
Comparing DS9 to B5 is problematic, I tried to think of an analogy but I can’t. Maybe Star Wars and Battlefield Earth? They are both science fiction movies that involve aliens, right?

I was always put off by the Grandpa Munster aliens on B5 (the Centauri). I can believe that alien design made it through the first draft.

The last sentence should have said “I can’t believe …”

  • Marsden

They always remind me of the way the people in the Dune movie looked.
