Monster of the Day #3709

Yes, everyone, I’m alive. My Internet cable got whacked on Monday and AT&T came out yesterday and got me up and running again. It’s good to be back.

Turns out Amazon Prime is offering some real nostalgia bait, the 1976 Saturday morning live action* kiddie show The Monster Squad. Better than the Shane Black movie! Although admittedly I loath Shane Black.

Star (from the Love Boat and future congressman) Fred Grandy finds the comatose big three monsters in a wax museum he caretakes and they join him in fighting crime. It’s all rather silly, but goody. You could probably share it if it you know any kiddies. Get them infected with those Monster Kid genes.

*The cartoon version, on another network, was The Drac Pack. Kind of like how Valley of the Dinosaurs was the cartoon version of Land of the Lost.

Seriously? Wow. It's been years since I even thought about that show. I may take a look.

    And welcome back, Ken!

Man, not having Internet is weird. Couldn't stream anything. I COULDN"T WATCH ANY ANIME!

  • They have this new thing called DVDs you can use to watch Anime on any time the internet's down.

That out of the way, I remember the time they were selling single anime episodes on a solitary VHS tapes. The fact I can have whole series of obscure anime sitting on my shelf is wild.
