Friday’s Watch Party selection was Star Pilot, aka 2 + 5: Mission Hydra. It’s delirious ’60s Italian sci-fi nonsense, and I’ve been keeping it in my back pocket for a while. Warning: It may show up at a future T-Fest as well. Other than the usual inexplicable inability to find any attractive actresses in Italy, it’s pretty great. There’s not a lot of monster action, but they are attacked by 2001-esque ape men at one point. Because…of course they are.
Really, Italy? Is that the best you can do?
I just noticed the $30 Blu Ray is down to $15 at Amazon right now. It surely wouldn’t be a bad investment.
