Amazon spot sale on compete Monty Python set…

Every TV episode for $40, 60% off the hundred dollar MSRP. Also includes their Live at the Hollywood Bowl concert film. Hey, A&E, didn’t I pay hundreds of bucks for this same stuff back when you were selling the show in segments? Ha, that’s why you’re such a love company.

Good Grief- I’ve managed to collect about half the show on DVD by getting them at used bookstores, plus the “Python Live” box. At 40 bucks I could probably buy the complete set, sell what I’ve got back to the used store and make money on the deal!!

  • This is why I hate A&E, really. They overcharge for their DVD’s and sets so horribly, that nobody can afford them.

And then, after you’ve saved up and managed to get them, they go and do something like this.

*glares balefully at Poirot collection cobbled together at $10/episode*

At least they’re *slowly* realizing that folks don’t want to pay $30 for 3 hours of material. Very, very slowly.

Wow–I actually spotted this early enough to buy it. Thanks!

It’s hard to imagine a fan NOT already owning this. I suspect most of us bought them when they were doled out, two-volume by two-volume set.

The advantage of this is that, since I assume it’s the thin-pak version, it would take up about a third of the space on the shelf.

    But yeah, A&E sux.

  • Fans would probably already own it (and might have paid ~#$*%*& hundreds of dollars for it), but that price would attract casual fans, you’d think, as well as being in the range of a decently priced gift.

And yeah, the slim packing is neat.

Tom Laughlin must be advising them.

Sorry, Ken, I saw this too late. My wife noticed it in the Amazon Gold Box and we ordered it that way.

    Next time…
