Monster of the Day #3706

The scariest thing? The skeleton has a nose.

That’s the book’s host looking through the window. Apparently he likes to watch.

"Hey, there's a skeleton with a glowing noose coming right for you. Good thing you didn't touch this magazine or you'd be in real trouble."

  • The Rev.

That is an oddly large nasal bone.

Anyway, you know what they say: no noose is good noose.

Look, if you no longer need my dog walking services, just say so. No need to get so melodramatic about it.

  • Let's be honest: ALL the Horror hosts liked to watch. The EC Comics crew giggled about it.

Recent blue-ray viewings are two more Fritz Lang silents–"Spies" and the first bit or so of "The Spiders."
Could've sworn Ken reviewed these already, but never mind. Recently cheap from Kino-Lorber.
"Spies" is really great, continuing the naturalistic acting I'd come to appreciate from "Woman in the Moon" (whose star is the lead female here). Rudolph Klein-Rogge, the main villain, is restrained and menacing (in VAST contrast to his role in Metropolis). There's a spectacular train crash sequence and the whole thing is very engaging (which for a 2.5 hour film is a plus). The lead for the anti-spy division milks enough cows for a vast dairy farm, and is pretty stupid for a chief, but otherwise the film is worth your time.
"The Spiders" seems sourced from a non-pristine print, but I'll let you know how it plays out.

Skelly: 'Damn, it's hard to untie knots when you have fleshless fingers! Human! Come over here and gimme a hand please!'
