Monster of the Day #766

I actually was going to go in another direction, but I seem to have created an expectation, so we’ll go with that. This is, for whatever reason, significantly less freaky than the Cark (if I’d known I was doing all shark hybrids, I’d have saved that one for last). Part of the reason is probably the fact that, really, how much more screwed are you here than if this were a regular rhino?

  • Flangepart

Well, it’d have a better sense of sight, and smell…yeah, you’d be boned big time.

  • Very weird. I think this is, technically, a better picture than yesterday, with the shark bending in better with the rhino. It might even be better than the shark horse (sharkorse?) in that regard.

And yet, to me, it’s a dull picture. Even taking in account it’s something rhino sized heading my way, for some reason the shark rhino (sharkino?) does nothing for me.

    I find that very interesting.

Of course, the shark cat (catark?) might have scared me beyond the ability of rational thought. Either that or Mary Worth pushed me over. She’s been threatening…

The real question, though, is whether or not sharkino puts out campfires like a real rhino.

  • Gamera977

    Oh no it’s the Bulette/Landshark!!!

Though I think it needs a rhino horn on it’s nose and a shark fin on the back to be perfect!

  • Ken_Begg

I agree with pretty much all of that.

And yes, it does put out campfires, as established in the movie, “The Old Gods Must Be Crazy.”

  • bgbear_rnh

When rhino’s run do they really have all feet off the ground at some point during their gallop? You learn something new every day. I think people used to argue about horses until someone like Muybridge confirmed it. Rhinos are probably not as easy to document.

  • Flangepart

Corse, then instead of the horn, it’s the fin get’s ‘um hunted.

  • Rock Baker

I can actually see this one as a viable movie monster. In fact, I can already picture a 50’s type safari/monster picture in my mind…..

  • sandra

I agree that it really needs the nose horn.
