Monster of the Day #758

Oh, brother, another week of GalaxyJane carping about how these covers are demeaning to women.

This is one of the better Georgia O’Keeffe sci-fi covers. Still, I have to ask…how the heck did that happen?

  • Gamera977

‘Is she a delicate damsel in distress or a tempting trick to lure a lonely spaceman into the predatory plant’s malignant maw!?! Find out inside- if you dare!!!’

    Love these covers Ken!

  • sandra

Big flower or small .. um, are those wings on her shoulder blades ? If so, I guess ‘woman’ isn’t the right word.

  • Ken_Begg

    I assume it’s a cunning little cape.

  • Flangepart

In a cunning little caper. Matches her bikini.
Well, it’s back to Rapacious Rotodendrons and Carniviorus Cucumbers, guys.

  • Rock Baker

Well, those killer space plants have a greater reach than you’d expect…..

  • Ken_Begg

I assume the message of the story was: Never go skydiving over a field of giant carnivorous plants.

  • Rock Baker

    Always good advice.

  • bgbear_rnh

Miley Cyrus has really disappointed me this time.

  • Now how good are you as a mental assassin when you have to feed your targets to carnivorous plants?

  • GalaxyJane

Yeah, ’cause that’s *totally* what I do. In fact I am so appalled at the mere existence of breasts I am going to go complain to the whole internets and see if the moderator can have you banned Mr. Ken “I like to exploit the womenfolks” Begg. There is a moderator for the whole internets, right?

Mostly I am just thinking, “Geez lady, eat a stinking sandwich and maybe, I don’t know, lift a weight or something, because you are totally letting the side down allowing yourself to be eaten by a plant monster as clearly pathetic as this one.” Or maybe she is doing that thing where she pretends to be all weak and incapable so she can catch herself a man. I hate that, mostly because nobody believes me when I try it. Also, I think those are implants.

  • Eric Hinkle

Am I the only one reminded of that classic bit of schlock film, ‘The Woman Eater’?

  • Ken_Begg

Oh, yeah, that’s just good stuff right there.

  • Ken_Begg

There she goes! It’s like T-Fest all over again!

  • Ken_Begg

Yes, because that cover isn’t boring.

  • Flangepart

Also, she looks like she’s doing the old ‘wrap the tenticles around myself’ bit.

  • Gamera977

Breasts? What? I was busy checking out her legs…

  • GalaxyJane

Good choice, her legs are nicer.

  • Ken_Begg

“Also, I think those are implants.”

    Well, she’s certainly “in-plants.”

  • Eric Hinkle

    Maybe that’s her turn-on?

  • Eric Hinkle

I never even saw ‘The Woman Eater’, and now you tell me it’s boring to boot? How can they make a movie about a mad doctor feeding lovely ladies to the monstrous plant in his basement boring?

  • Rock Baker

By making it in Britain. Actually, I thought the film wasn’t bad, although I’ll admit it was nowhere as lively as I expected it to be.
