Monster of the Day #736

I should note that when I scouted this array, I found that (surprise) Rock Baker had already done it. Check out his page for a few more, non-Godzilla candids.

Still, all the studio publicity press shoots in the world couldn’t keep the real truth from coming out.

So Godzilla was a Lothario, who knew?

  • Flangepart

Hah. Pretty tall for a lothario.

  • Eric Hinkle

    Godzilla gets all the girls!

  • Eric Hinkle

Hey, for all we know, that last picture is actually of Gigantis, the female Godzilla.

  • Cullen Waters

I love these Godzilla pictures something fierce. Although the Baragon pic over at Rock Baker’s site is probably the best of the bunch.

  • Gamera977

Wouldn’t kissing Gojira/Godzilla be like kissing a leaky atomic reactor???

  • Flangepart

And I bet you smell like ozone after wards.

  • Rock Baker

Actually, it IS Gigantis! You can tell by the slimmer, more flexible build of the suit.

  • Rock Baker

It’s one of my personal favorites too. If there were any 8X10 glossies sold of that shoot, I’d love to have ’em for my collection!

  • Eric Hinkle

Poor Gigantis, she had to go chasing strange men because her hubby was running around with his female costars. No wonder Minya turned out the way he did.

  • The Rev.

Shoot, I couldn’t find the Baragon pic. Where’s it at?

Speaking of Rock’s blog…looking at some of the recent costume photos, I see one (the humanoid spider) that intrigues me. I had two guesses as to what it was, and I’m curious if either is correct.

    1. An alien assassin (who I want to say was actually called “Assassin”) from the “Battle of the Ultra-Brothers” comic series.

    2. A humanoid version of Kumonga.

The first was my first thought, but considering its obscurity, the second seems more likely. Or maybe I’m completely off-base. I guess we’ll see!

  • Rock Baker

And the answer is….. Geega. A new monster Kyle built for the G-Fantis movie (it can be seen grappling with G-Fantis in the video link I posted in the forum). He did it as a sort of cross between King Kong and a garden spider, and the head, in fact, is based on the model from TARANTULA.

  • Rock Baker

The Baragon pic is at the bottom of the pictorial.

  • The Rev.

Ah, I see the problem; for some reason, two images near the bottom are not coming up for me, although all the others are (even the last one, oddly enough) so I can’t see Baragon.

    Ah, so it’s a monster I wouldn’t know. Okay.

I’d show you Assassin so you could see why I thought that, but I can only seem to find images of the comic series’ covers online, and my copies are in storage in Iowa.
