T-Fest / Houston dinner next week!

Just a reminder everyone; dinner in Houston is next Thursday, while the big event T-Fest…5? 6?…is that Saturday, the 21st. Details here. Questions?  Ask below.

See ya!

  • The Rev.

If I recall, you guys had two T-Fests in Houston. I’ve been to three here in Dallas, and my understanding is that I have been to all the Dallas ones. If this is all correct, this’d be T-Fest VI.

Anyone in the Dallas area want to try and get together for something similar next Friday, since we can’t get out to Houston?

  • JazzyJ

I have to borrow against family time enough to attend the T-Fest — no time for another event… Really psyched about the main event, though!

  • Chad R.

Did they finish renovating the Guildhall?

  • Chad R–

Sadly not. Quoth the Sand(y)Man: “Location info same as last time. Sadly we are still in the throes of remodeling some of the rooms so they won’t be ready – but next year we should have an even better place to set and jeer at Ken’s tastes. It will be just as good as last year though, which means it won’t be the very best projector quality, but for the movies we bring it seems good enough.”

I should note that I find the idea that my tastes are of particular mockibility, given my compatriots in this venture, to be entirely risible.

  • The Rev.

Considering Mr. Petersen’s propensity to bring insane Asian movies, I might have to side with him on that point…

While you gave us (I assume) R.O.T.O.R., you also brought Harrad.

Although wasn’t Theodore Rex one of his?

This is tougher than I thought…

Which one of you brought that Mexican Red Riding Hood/Tom Thumb movie to T(ween)-Fest? That’d weigh very heavily in favor of the bringer, because that movie required me to get a face transplant due to the rocking said movie did to the prior face. (Luckily (?) the new one looks just like the old one.)

  • GalaxyJane

Nope, I’m siding with Ken. He didn’t subject us to “Nightmare City”. Yes, I am still bitter, why do you ask?

  • ROTOR was mine, as as Harrad. (Zoom, by the way.) Chris brought Theodore Rex. Mexican Riding Hood was Sandy’s.

My defining moment at T(ween) Fest earlier this year was when Sandy’s recently married son Arthur (a good chap, and his wife is a sweet, charming lady; they just had their first kid) inquired as to when we were showing a ‘good’ movie that his bride Debbie might join us for. I gazed upon the line-up and with chagrin realized I had no nominations to offer.

At least in completely solid entertainment value, we have a number of good movies this year.

  • The Rev.

I should’ve known that was a Chris pick. If he’s there, the Excruciator is invariably one of his. Hell, last year’s winner AND the runner-up were his picks.

Oh yeah, you brought Samurai Cop too, Ken, so you’ve got one winner under your belt.

    So let’s see…

Sandy: Flying 69ing sorcerors, virgin-eating houses, midget-powered dragons shooting real fire at children, the Wookietaur and the tied-up Japanese woman in tight black leather (I’m guessing that was one of his; I might be wrong), Nightmare City* and (to be fair) the horrors of MONTAG~!!!

Ken: naked hippies “Zoom”ing, real reptiles killing each other, “Samurai” and Robert Z’dar in their underwear, the worst “Australian” accent in history, and (to be fair) R.O.T.O.R. and the Tabanga.

    Yeeeeeah…this wasn’t as hard as I thought.

*Despite its terribleness, it gave me a vicarious thrill, knowing most of those assembled hadn’t experienced it yet and I’d get to savor their delicious agony, WHICH I DID.
