6:00 PM 2010

Oh, and the French version of Beauty and the Beast, King Kong, the Hunchback of Notre Dame (Lon Chaney) and Seventh Seal is on tonight. If you haven’t seen Beauty and the Beast, it’s one of the great screen fantasies, and deserves to be shown with King Kong and the Seventh Seal, which not many films are. If you can’t watch it tonight, get the Criterion Collection DVD for the film, either through Netflix, your local library, or just buying a copy. I did.

Hey, if anyone burns themselves a disc of Green slime (and any of the other movies tomorrow) I wouldn’t mind a copy too.

  • Marty McKee

GREEN SLIME has run several times on TCM and has never been LBX, so don’t get your hopes up.

  • Marty — Thanks…I guess. Man, that’s weird. I’ve never seen an altered film on TCM before.

  • Rock Baker

I similarly was burned by a cropped showing of The Green Slime on TCM, which was promised to be aired scope when listed on the website. If it does beat the odds and actually gets shown scope, SOMEONE PLEASE MAKE A COPY I CAN BORROW LONG ENOUGH TO TAPE A COPY FOR MYSELF!!! If you’re feeling generous enough to make extra copies on your own, as I said earlier, I can trade a DVD-R of the Boris Karloff/Mario Bava Black Sabbath (assuming everyone else doesn’t already have a copy). I suppose if push comes to shove, I can also offer Queen of Blood for trade.

The Manster has been one of my favorites for years. I’ll make the same offer for a nice copy of that one as well!
