Ba-Ba-Ba-B-FEST!!!!

Can it really nearly be that time of year again? Horrifyingly, yes! Amazingly, we’re only about two and a half months away from B-Fest 2010, and with the zillions of holidays and all, it will be here before you know it.

Lest anyone is unaware, B-Fest is a 24 hour b-movie festival run ever year (more or less since 1981, so pretty soon it will be the 30th anniversary!) at Northwestern University in Evanston, IL. Since this is fairly close to my house–maybe an hour away–and due to my proximity to O’Hare, I’ve become sort of the ground zero guy for the event, at least in our little circle.

The dates for this Fest will be Fri-Sat, Jan 29th-30th.  Ticket info is currently unavailable (thanks, Marty) but updates will be posted when available at B-Fest.com they go on sale as of January 5th, and will cost $35. Odds are the price will remain at or just around last year’s (this year’s actually) $35, but remember that’s for like 15 movies and shorts and other stuff.

Anyone who wants more info can post a message below.  If you think you’d like to attend and want to check with me on details regarding that, you can e-mail me at ken@jabootu.com.

  • Heck yeah! Looking forward to it. Although every year I think, “I’m getting too old for this shit.”

Where did you get the Jan 5 date, Ken? I haven’t heard anything through Twitter or the mailing list, but perhaps you’re hearing news through your secret inside sources…

  • Yikes! It was posted on the B-Fest.com site, but maybe that’s a left over from earlier this year. Let me check with Chris Holland and get back to you, Marty. Thanks for bringing it up, though.

    Ken,

Charles and I are confirmed for this year! He just got the time off from work.

  • Liz –I am so glad Charles’ parole came through. Er, that he ‘got time off of work.’ See ya!

  • Barring a work catastrophe, I want this to be the year I go! We need a Texan T-Fest veteran representative.

  • That…would be fabulous. I’ll discuss this with you soon.

  • The Rev. D.D.

I too am hoping to make this the year I finally attend. I’ve been saying that for years but I think this could be the year I finally pull it off. Here’s hoping.

And see, I could be the first runner-up T-Fest veteran rep in case LK cannot perform his duties in his role as Texan T-Fest veteran rep or something.
