Greatest movie ever?

Looking at the newly announced DVD listings this morning, I saw the less than promising title Anaconda 3: The Offspring. Here’s the thing, though: It stars David Hasselhoff!!

Sadly, further investigation revealed that it’s one of those Sci-Fi ‘original’ movie deals, and hence by definition would surely suck. (Actually, the invaluable Scott Foy gave it two and a half stars, which is waaaay more than I thought it get.) Anyway, find out yourself when it hits disc on Octobor 21st.

Much better news is that the sadly short lived sci-fi spoof Quark is due out on Oct 14th.  I hope this isn’t far lamer than I recall, but nostalgia can bite one in the ass.

My memory of “Quark” is that it was no “Red Dwarf” but, was pretty funny and there was some good parody of classics sci fi. I also remember B-movie star Tim Thomerson being in it. I was thinking he was the plant guy but, checking IMDB he was Gene/Jean. Hmmm, some kind of gender bender that I have blocked from memory.

I haven’t seen in in 30 years but I have the sinking feeling that Quark won’t have aged that well.

I can’t wait for “Quark”…..it was ahead of it’s time. Buck Henry is such a great satirical writer and The Barnstable twins were very cute and funny in this show. The whole cast was terrific!

Quark rocked. The Barnstables were ctre.

That was *my* immediate thought. Let’s see, the last one was set in Borneo, right? This time around I’m hoping for Arizona.

Quark was one of the first “running joke” shows my brother and I ever adopted; I was a science nerd even back then, as my choice of catch-phrase – “We don’t kiss, we pollinate” – attests.

    Will a Romanian forest suffice?

And to add to Ken’s initial story, ANACONDA 4 has already been filmed and will premiere on the Sci-Fi Channel later this year or early next. No Hoff though.

A Romanian forest declared to *be* a Romanian forest, or a Romanian forest pretending to be the Pantanal?

Actually, both of those are pretty chucklicious.

Aw, damn: this means I’m gunna have to review the second one, doesn’t it?

Quark had a terrific cast. Richard Benjamin is a classic! Tim thormerson…B movie cult hero! Cyb and Tricia Barnstable….beautiful, former models, Conrad Janis….so talented……need I say more!
