Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

Sorry about the lack of a review this weekend, but I ended up traveling. Then tomorrow I’m heading down to visit my family in Kentucky for Thanksgiving and, given a calendar anomaly, my birthday. (Usually that and Thanksgiving fall on different weeks.)

I should be back in time by Sunday to post a Nugget for a general Circus Movie roundtable, and then the week after should *finally* see that Zabriskie Point review. It’ll be good to get that monkey off my back.

Everyone have a great holiday. If you can fit in a cinematic turkey or two, well, it would only be appropriate. In the meantime, let me honor the day by saying that this site has been a very great blessing to me. I want to thank each and every person who’s been a part of it, from my fellow contributors to the readers who have stuck around year in and year out, even when nearly nothing was posted for the longest stretches of time. You guys are the greatest.

By the way, the pumpkin pie? To die for.

For the last few years, my Thanksgiving has been me getting a Thanksgiving meal someplace (this year I’m gonna get Boston Market), and watching movies (some I rent, some I own). I watch a few family films during the day, then Christmas ones in the evening while I decorate my little tree and the dresser it sits on.

I always watch Muppet Christmas Carol, and this year I’m gonna watch Elf, which I’ve never seen before (it’ll be one that I rent; I own MCC). At least one of my non-Christmas movie is gonna be Lilo & Stitch, since I really like it and haven’t seen it in awhile.

I’ll also probably watch one of the two MST Christmas movies, and the Invader Zim Christmas episode.

I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving! And happy birthday, Ken!

Happy Birthday and Happy Thanksgiving, Ken!

I’ve been hooked on Jabootu since “The Monster of Party Beach”.

Turkeys are damn ugly. Good for them (not really) that they taste good. I’ll be Mass Effect-ing and Rock Band-ing and college work-ing through the End of Turkey.

Wish you all the best, Ken!
I’m a recent convert (stumbled here from Andrew Borntreger’s site), then found out the rest of the Cabal.
I’m a fan for life!
Thanks for all the work you do throughout the year(s).
Hope your holidays are good :)

“Zabriskie Point,” eh? Isn’t that very pretentious Antonioni twaddle, with two non-actors, one of whom died a few years after this pic was made? MGM’s attempts to stay “hip” and “relevant” in the early 1970’s (“ZP,” “Pretty Maids All In A Row” and “The Strawberry Statement”) tanked big time, and almost put the studio out of business. If it wasn’t for “Westworld” and MGM’s 50th anniversary compilation film “That’s Entertainment,” MGM would be long gone.
Looking forward to the review. Happy Thanksgiving, everyone.

That turkey pic was so terrifying that I had to work it into a turducken toon on my blog.

Happy Thanksgiving everybody!
