I don’t know why comic book coloring is so much blander now. I always loved the deep, deep orange the Thing was colored back in those days. Check out that FF #51 cover, for instance. I wish they would print a color volume of the old Strange Tales stories with the Torch and the Thing, which were great stuff, because the black and white Essentials reprints really lose the charm of those stories.
