Monster of the Day #673

I guess this guy was the most successful Alien rip-off, in a way.

What’s up with all the body mucus these monsters seem to secrete? You’d think they’d be slipping and sliding all over the place.

  • Gamera977

Hmmmm, you think it might be more effective to throw salt on the monster than shooting at it…

  • The Rev.

What is this thing? It kind of looks like the Syngenor, but I don’t think that’s what it is since I don’t recall Syngenor having human-looking eyes or all those tubes.

    he’s sugar coated

  • Ericb

    A Krispy Kreme [tm] monster?

  • bgbear_rogerh

Sugar-Frosted Monstrosities are part of this nutritious breakfast

  • The SYNGENOR suit was built from left-overs of a film called SCARED TO DEATH, so I guess this is a shot from the earlier appearance. As far as I know, SYNGENOR was seen by more people (I know I saw it once), mostly on video. Speaking of, there’s a film with lunacy galore. A future review subject?

I don’t know anything about SCARED TO DEATH, but I think it was a more standard ALIEN rip-off.

  • Flangepart

True. That line reminds me of the Mad Magazine parody of ALIENS.

Asp: This creature has acid for blood.

Dullas: Great. Maybe we can kill it with a Rolaids!

  • The Rev.

Well, some quick research shows that my memory of the Syngenor was off, as that’s exactly what this is. I had remembered it as more of a gillman-looking thing with reptilian scales. Weird.

I have only seen a few minutes of STD so I can’t really comment on it. Syngenor…well, David Gale was in it, so that was good (that was the first thing I saw him in, in fact), and there was a small army of Syngenors running around at the end, but other than that I remember it being pretty dull and crappy.

  • I recall mostly the fact that the supposed super-soldier of tomorrow was rather easily beat back by a young woman it had cornered in her bathroom. So much for their usefulness. At least we still had Rambo.

The Syngenor, a great monster design that first appeared in the most god-awful, boring movie I have seen. Yes, Scared to Death is that bad.

  • zombiewhacker

Worse than Santa Meets The Ice Cream Bunny?

  • Eighties Dude

What movie is this from? This is a late post so most might not see it. If you happen to see it and know the movie please feel free to tell me on twitter? I’m @hootyhaha aka Eighties Dude.

It says above, sir. :-) “Scared to Death: Syngenor”
