DEAL OVER!

Still one of the greatest of all sitcoms.  I especially liked how they changed focus so radically year to year.  One season the characters road trip across America or travel to Europe; another they spend in Hollywood with a gobsmacking array of guest stars–John Wayne, William Holden, Orson Welles, Harpo Marx, etc.

Today you can get all 9 seasons on 34 discs for $85, 64% off list, and less than $9 a season.  And that’s back when a season was 30 plus shows and the shows ran about 27 minutes, as opposed to 18 minutes today. Plus there are extras, like the long considered lost I Love Lucy movie.

    The best way to get there, is to get to I-30. Take the Ridge Road exit and go south. We live in a gated community, and sometimes map programs falsely show that you can get into our community via a side gate. But you can’t. So keep going south past a short dogleg in the road, immediately followed by a light. Turn right at the light, and then turn right again at the community entrance. Talk your way past the rent-a-cop and you will be on Yacht Club Drive, a long meandering loop of a road that goes all the way around the Chandler’s Landing community. My street, Reliance Court, is pretty much exactly on the opposite end of the loop so it doesn’t matter if you turn left or right. Go about a mile and you will see the Reliance Court dead-end drive. We are the weird modernistic striped house with the tin roof.

    I have this on my wish list, so I’ll be getting it someday, but what’s this about a feature? First I’ve heard of such a thing other than The Long, Long Trailer (which wasn’t technically an I Love Lucy movie, but they made sure we took it that way).

    You’re right. This was a fantastic show. Even the weakened versions I taped off television over the years never fail to entertain despite periodic viewings.
