Wizard of Oz plays in theaters this Wednesday night…

I have written on this site about my hope that digital projection would lowers costs and bring about the return of revival theaters.  One company moving towards that direction (and others I mentioned, such as telecasting live sporting events to theater screens) is Fathom Events.  This week they are teaming up with Turner Classic Movies to bring 1939’s The Wizard of Oz to theaters.  Details, including a link for theater locations, here. Man, I’d like to see more of this sort of thing.

October 8th will bring the ex-MST3K guys at Riff Tracks doing their thing to Plan 9.  Details here.

To be accurate, the MST3K guys have ALREADY DONE their thing to Rifftrax. This is a rebroadcast of an event from August, which I attended. For those who didn’t get a chance to go, I highly recommend attending…it’s pretty awesome.

Already got my ticket for WoO.

I’ll concur that the Plan 9 show was quite entertaining as was the short.
