Doing DaVinci premieres tonight…

…on the Discovery Channel, not, thankfully, the Playboy Channel.  It’s the channel’s latest knock-off of Mythbusters, but that’s OK, because I like Mythbusters.  In this show a team actually builds some of DaVinci’s more elaborate inventions to see if they’d work.  Tonight they build his famous tank design.

    Seen a similar program here in the UK. Got the tank to work quite well on a flat plain, after they changed one of the crank mechanisms 180 degrees around because he drew both (right side and left side) the same way. The parachute I thought was more facinating though.

    I;m going to watch it. Discovery hasn’t had such a good track record with shows like Smashlab (uggh, awful show), Prototype This! and Master Blasters. Even Mythbusters is going downhill because the focus is slowly changing from science to “That blowed up real good!” Hopefully this show will be as cool as its premise.

  • It was fairly fun; the finished machine was extremely cool. It mainly made me wish they’d bring back Monster Garage, though.
