Best Episode* of Mythbusters ever on tonight…

*OK, that should rather be “Ken’s favorite episode of Mythbusters”, but I wanted a punchier title.

Anyway, at 7:00 Central Time, Discovery Channel will show the Phonebook Friction episode of Mythbusters tonight.  That’s my all time favorite myth they’ve ever done.  Plus, it’s the same show where the B-team examines several facets of the climax of the killer shark flick Deep Blue Sea.

Another–I think new–episode of Mythbusters also follows that one.

  • Rock Baker

Fun show, but I remember getting burnt out on it after a while and stopped watching it for some time before cancelling the satellite. I think it had something to do with the guys always being so possitive that their conclusions were without fault. I’d offer an example, but its been so long I can’t really remember what it was that got my goat, so to speak.

This IS a great episode! I really like the shark they made for the DBS myths. (-:

  • Elizabeth

I’m not even trying to hear that a shark can’t jump out of a pool and bite Samuel L. Jackson in half. Eff that noise.

(Actually, I know sharks can jump, so at least that part’s… plausible? Enough? Comparatively?)

  • BeckoningChasm

Actually, Elizabeth, there was a great documentary about leaping Great Whites called “Air Jaws” that I have somewhere in my DVDs…they’re quite good at jumping.

  • The Rev.

Just got to watch my DVR of this last night. Thank you so much for the heads-up; this was great! That phone book thing was unreal, and I loved that I had called out all those things (and many more) in DBS as completely wrong, and they proved me right. (The only one I didn’t question was the shot with the crossbow, and they were able to do that anyway!)

MAN that was a stupid movie.
