Not just whoring: Again, great $5 Amazon DVD deals…

Purely as a service to the public (and the like .25 I make for each DVD sold) I again strongly push Amazon’s amazing $5 (some $4!) horror DVD sale going on right now. Below are some flicks I especially recommend, although there are a ton more. If nothing else, the numerous Something Weird double feature DVDs not only offer two movies for $5, but a ton of extras on each DVD. Seriously, there are some terrific bargains here. And again, free shipping on orders over $25.

Indeed, for the larger list of these and other great horror DVDs for a buck or two more, click on the $6.99 and less link, and get the entire list. Some of these are only .50 more! On one DVD, get both The Monster that Conquered the World and It! the Terror from Beyond Space for $5.50!!!! Good gravy!! Check out the huge list of simply invaluable MGM double bills for $5.50. Amazing.

Amazon hasn’t made a banner for this page (dummies), so if interested, click on the link below, then navigate to the DVD main page and look for the link (in “Dynamite Deals,” to the left) to the Halloween DVDs. Thanks!

Prom Night (Jamie Lee Curtis) Sure, why not?

Invaders from Mars (’50s) Neat little ’50s sci-fi flick.
Basket Case ‘Nuff said!
Death Curse of Tartu/Sting of Death Death Curse is no great shakes, but Sting of Death is hilarious. One of the great “MST3K shoulda done it” flicks.
Doctor of Doom / Wrestling Women vs. the Aztec Mummy GREATEST DVD EVER! OK, maybe not, but close.
Alone in the Dark Superior ’80s slasher with awesome cast: Jack Palance, Martin Landau, Donald Pleasance, Dwight Schultz (A-Team)
Terror in the Midnight Sun/Attack of the Animal People Really interesting DVD, featuring a Swedish (!) sorta Yeti movie, as well as the typically hilarious Jerry Warren hack job made after he acquired the rights to same. Students of drive-in exploitation will find this an invaluable insight into how people like Warren worked.
Zombie Lake Probably the single most reviewed movie amongst the bad movie review sites. See why!
Bloody Pit of Horror Man, I love this movie.
Horrors of Spider Island Hilarious cheesecake ‘n’ monster flick.
Monsters Crash the Halloween Party A simply awesome collection of spooky shorts. The greatest Halloween party DVD ever.
Astro-Zombies ‘Nuff Said.
Strangler of the Swamp Neat little atmospheric poverty row horror flick. Hey, it’s five bucks.
Giant from the Unknown Pure ’50s cheese, baby.
Gallery of Horrors Funny tres cheap anthology flick with John Carradine and Lon Chaney Jr.

Some nice stuff there; if that’s the same Invaders from Mars I have, it has both the American and British versions (slightly different endings).

Still, I have to ask this: what is Training Day (the Denzel Washington film) doing in that list?

  • I must own Zombie Lake…

  • Mike, everyone must own Zombie Lake. Some of us just haven’t realized it yet.

Of course we have to own Zombie Lake; what are we, a heap of hicks?
