The Iconoclastic Reviewer: Oasis of the Zombies

Here at Jabootu we are proud to highlight those brave voices who stand up to the critical establishment (and the human race in general) and forthrightly state, “You’re wrong!” Here such a courageous soul at the IMDB stands up against The Man to champion the Nazi Zombie flick Oasis of the Zombies:

This really was not a bad Zombie movie, Yes it is slow but it was not boring. This movie was kinda similar to another great French Zombie movie called “ZOMBIE LAKE”. The Zombie’s in this were really cool looking and the gore scene that was in here was really cool also. I think that the idea of Nazi Zombie’s has been working well because I have not seen a Zombie movie with Nazi Zombie’s that has sucked yet. I do recommend this to fans of Zombie movie’s it really is not as bad ad the rating may make this movie look. I have not seen a bad movie made by Jess Franco yet and I hope I don’t either. But I still have to see “A VIRGIN AMONG THE LIVING DEAD” until I make my final decision but I hope that is a good Vampire/Zombie movie. But anyways this movie is not as bad as it looks. ”

We at Jabootu salute you, sir!

  • If he wrote this while her was sober, then I, too, salute him.
Sseriously, though, having grown up watching b-movies (with Saturday night’s “Chiller Theater” as the highlight of my childhood week), I can also see an otherwise poorly rated horror flick’s good points. As a matter of fact, I have trouble poking fun at them for that very same reason. To me, the narration on “Indestructible Man” is GOOD. I’ve seen that movie a hundred times and STILL like it. Same with Francis Lederer’s “The Return of Dracula”. What I CAN’T stand is recent garbage that pretends to horrify and entertain (Rob Zombie, I’m looking at you).

Wow…were we watching the same movie, because OotZ, despite having having Nazis (one of my two favorite movie elements – the other being exploding Nazis) was every bit as bad as it looks.

    Which isn’t to say I didn’t like it, but…

They need to stop letting 13-year-olds post reviews, dammit.
There’s only one Nazi zombie movie that’s any good, and he didn’t even mention it.
    Feh!
