Nice sale on Vincent Price set…

Amazon is selling the recent Vincent Price: MGM Scream Legends Collection for $20, or half off the list price.  This includes very nice editions of The Abominable Dr. Phibes, Tales of Terror, Theater of Blood, Madhouse, Witchfinder General, Dr. Phibes Rises Again and Twice Told Tales on five discs.  Not bad for $20, and there’s more than one classic movie there! Moreover, it’s nearly eight bucks cheaper than the next closest competitor is selling it for.

You can’t go wrong with this five-disc set at half price either, featuring nearly 125 cartoons:

Also, I must admit that this related set includes two movies that I personally consider among the funniest films ever, A Shot in the Dark and The Pink Panther Strikes Again. If nothing else, rent those two.

  • I can honestly say that it’s hard to beat seven movies for twenty dollars. If you get up to $25, your shipping would be free, too.

    Phibes is great, Theatre of Blood even better. I just saw Witchfinder General for the first time, it’s one of Price’s best performances. Those three alone would be good for the price (har har); it’s a no brainer with four other movies to boot.

  • Yes, indeedy. I think I get a minutely larger small slice if you buy the exact item linked to, but if you buy anything during that trip, I do get credit for it; even cookware or a sword cane.

    And yes, Amazon does sell sword canes. Stay away from the $11 dollar one, though. There’s better ones, apparently, for $20.

    In any case, I think this beats the tip jar, because if you’re buying something from Amazon anyway, and use one of my links, you’re supporting the site without spending an extra dime. And that’s pretty cool.

    I’m actually getting Freddy Vs. Jason; and it occurred to me that you might have a link in your review of it (and indeed you do!). So in this case, the point is moot. But it’ll be good to know for the future. ^_^

    Good to know that anything purchased after using your link benefits the site… I had to get the Vincent Price set, he is my Overlord, after all. I took the opportunity to get something for my wife’s birthday too, so it’s a win-win for everybody!

  • It’s AG, Charles…all good. I would have pushed that set at that price (har har) anyway; any chance to get someone to see Phibes or Theatre of Blood must be pursued.

    Please wish the Mrs. a happy birthday for me, despite the fact that she undoubtedly has no idea who I am and thus will be vaguely creeped out. (As opposed to if she *did* know me, in which case she would be concretely creeped out.)
