Monster of the Day #880

I liked Grabbers a lot, but man, this film was tremendous. I was depressed when it did so poorly here because they just doesn’t seem to be a market for monster movies anymore. Hopefully Godzilla will change that.

I HAVE to see this, now. Thanks for this and the monster from a couple days ago — off to eBay!

They really should have called it Protect The Block.

  • Flangepart

    The monsters need new phones.
Don’t MAKE me explain that one…

  • Ken_Begg

    ‘Ha!’ and ‘Ouch!’ Well played.

I should note that there are CGI enhancements, but basically the monster effects were all practical, so you can imagine how much I like this film.

Are they apelike critters? Somehow they remind me of those flying monkeys from one of the Harry Dresden novels who fling flaming poo balls at him.

  • Rock Baker

Gorillas with luminous teeth? You’d think I would have heard something about this, wouldn’t you?

  • BobTanaka

I knew it was only a matter of time before the Furbies turned on us…

  • Flangepart

How does that work back on the home world? Kinda like when an angle fish dangles it’s lure to draw in prey? Or perhaps an unexpected effect of our atmosphere?
    Yeesh, what a nerding I a-go!

  • The Rev.

Ah, is that what this is? That one’s on my list since Ken talked it up to me at T(ween)-Fest this year.

This week’s given me quite a few movies I need to watch. Because I didn’t have enough as it was.
