Amazing success on fundraising drive…

When I recently and quite cravenly importuned for $10 donations in honor of the site’s 10th anniversary last month, I was hoping for maybe $50; $100 in my craziest fantasies.

Instead, you guys sent in over $500!  We got fifteen donations in total, ranging from the ten bucks I suggested to several $50 pops, and even $100 from one gentleman who was obviously hopped up on goofballs, or thought he was sending the money some place useful.

Amazon eats about 10% of ‘tips’ for adminstrative costs or whatever, and Paypal more like 3%, and I think I ended up with about $460 in my pocket, which is amazing.  I already used part of it to pay Techmaster Paul a goodly hunk of what I’ve pathetically owed him for bandwitch rent for two years now (I will pay the rest off in the coming months, I swear!), and will use the rest to procure movies to review.  I did splurge on a bag of dark chocolate Raisenettes, though.  Ha, ha!  I’m financially irresponsible!

Thank you, people, really and truly.  I’ll really try to make sure you consider your investment well spent.  Here’s to our 20th anniversary in 2017.

    Goofballs?

    No way, man.

    It was peyote.

Wish I could have kicked in, man. I’ve been hit pretty hard lately though.

But who knows? Maybe I’ll win the lottery and can finally give you that million I promised in such circumstances…

Of course, I’d actually have to PLAY the lottery…

  • Rev — Your good intentions carry as much weight as your money would, my friend.

Well, not really, obviously. But really, really close, though.

(People are reading this in a ‘funny’ tone, right? I hope so.)

  • The Rev. D.D.

    Thanks for the kind words.

I do hope to donate before the year is out, so I can stop relying on good intentions. Here’s hoping…
