UPDATED: Monster of the Day #545

Let’s take one last trip on the Night Train to Error. (See what I did there?) And yes, I think that’s supposed to be a ‘real’ person under the monster. OK, I may have to track down a copy of this. This time, though, I’ll skip over the truly repulsive first story and just move on the this stuff.

UPDATE:  This sequences looks, amazingly, more ridiculous than one picture can capture. Check out all the stills at the wonderful Final Girl site. Notice that the actor is brunette, but becomes a Claymation blond when confronting the monster.

Maybe the filmakers were overdoing the Night Train Express when they were making this.

Wow- I guess they were hoping that the abundance of fog would help to cover up the ‘slightly better than Mr. Bill’ quality of the human figure. This still does not do that theory any favors. Nice fog lights on the monster, though- at least he can see where he’s going.

Kinda ‘Mr. Bill’s Worst Nightmare’ there…

    I don’t know, Davey

Hah, I thought this was from a puppet/clamation feature. So the human was supposed to be a real human?

“Monster eyes? so much for the oncoming SUV theory…”

What happened to the like button? That deserves a like!

  • Judging by Final Girl’s captures, they changed A LOT about The Nightmare Never Ends (aka the Claire Case). For instance, if I’m reading things right, the above attack was committed by a cobra puppet.

Or maybe it was a bat puppet.

It happened so fast. Most unlike the rest of the film.

I think those up and down cones under the comment are the like / dislike now.

  • MrTongoRad

I haven’t seen it myself (and Ken has since updated the post) but that’s what I gathered by looking at some of the reviews linked on IMDB. Somehow they have all convinced me that I must see this.

The Iron Giant finally gets sick of that stupid kid…
