I still think the Teletubbies’ Baby Sun is freakier, though. Maybe because it’s supposed to be a benign thing on a kid’s show. Of course, that program also features speakers that rise from the ground to give commands to passersby….

On the new Doctor Who the Master was a fan of the Teletubbies and though it was mainly meant as a homage to one of the old Master stories from the Jon Pertwee era it still seemed very appropriate.
That goes a long way toward explaining the whole Aztec human sacrifice to the sun god thing.
