Monster of the Day #452

Some of Korea’s biggest film stars reacted with deep sorrow to the news of Kim Jong-Il’s death.

  • Didn’t you already do the Dino De Laurentiis King Kong?

No, wait, sorry, I got confused.  Never mind.

“By its third generation the Kong Dynasty had lost the respect of the majority of the population.”

  • Flangepart

Take THIS, Toho! You won’t monkey around with my image again!”

  • Gamera977

NOT the International Sign Language sign for banana!!!

He must be the stupidest kaiju ever, like Kong he has a taste for blondes- so what country does he invade looking for a blonde to abduct- yes South Korea…. huh????*

*Frankly IMHO Korean women are on average the most attractive Asian women this is no slam on them. Some years ago I saw a photo someone had posted of a Hooters in Shanghai, China. In the background you could see a sign ‘Caution, blondes at work.’ And yes, all the waitresses were beautiful Chinese women- no blondes in sight!

  • I’ve come to the same conclusion, that Korea boasts a higher average of beautiful women than other countries of the Orient, with Japan close behind. Sort of weird, but such is the pattern I’ve noticed.

  • A*P*E. Filmed in both wide-screen and 3D. All I ever saw was a cropped, flat TV print. The most outrageous giant monster movie I’ve ever seen? The cheapest? Could be, as it makes one realize how slick GOLIATHON (aka THE MIGHTY PEKING MAN) is! Although, I’m pretty sure that endless parade of army mobilization footage at the climax was actually shot for the film, through cooperation with the South Korean Army! In a more serious giant ape movie, the casting of Alex Nicol as the General would have been a good move.
