“My, what thin leaves on your trunk”
Triffids just loooove to fondle.

“How dooooo you do it? I haven’t been able to find ANYTHING to fix MY split ends.”
John Campbell
Wow! For once I knew what this was!
Movie scared the bejesus’ out of me as a kid.
I remember being cautious around large plants for awhile.
Ahhh those were wonderfully imaginative times.

And I really got hot when I saw Janette Scott
Fight a triffid that spits poison and kills.
Well, actually, it was Kieron Moore who did most of the fighting. Um… with a firehose.

BTW, years later I heard somebody claim that 28 Days Later ripped this movie off, since both are post-apocalyptic movies set in London involving a hero, a heroine, and a little girl (all not related), and both films feature one sequence where slobbering, woman-pawing, would-be soldiers stage a losing battle in an abandoned mansion against an onslaught of monsters.
Myself, I call it a coincidence. Which does happen, by the way. I also don’t buy into the argument that Evil Dead was a ripoff of the movie Equinox. You hear that a lot, too.

I’d say there are enough similarities in both cases that you could make a decent argument, even if the copying isn’t concious.
