The mystery is solved…

Yesterday some of us were scratching our heads as to why TCM scheduled The Giant Claw in the midst of six or seven big bug movies. However, the film followed Tarantula and The Black Scorpion–both of which starred, as does Giant Claw, cult icon Mara Corday. I guess they figured fans would forgive the non-bug nature of the flick to enjoy five straight hours of Mara. And really, they were no doubt absolutely correct. Besides, I think it’s absolutely FANTASTIC that TCM has enough of a sense of humor to schedule something like Giant Claw to start with. Good for them on what’s a great idea; I hope they make this a yearly event.

I realized this last night as I was making sure I had them all set to record on the DVR.

And yes, hours with Mara Corday are hours well spent. Thanks for that great cheesecake shot of her. That’ll get ya going in the morning…

    Oh, Mara…baby.
    Mara-Good! Also, Helllllo-Nurse!

Should they run an Allison Hayes night, I might have to pick up my cable subscription again! Or even better, Gloria Talbott night! Or June Kenney night!
