Monster of the Day #242

“Do not bring your cheap, syndicated production values here…oops, too late.”

But hey, he felt up Adrienne Barbeau and did it with Heather Locklear, so he’s got that going for him.

  • He also got a better movie than his Marvel counterpart, Man-Thing…

Oof. Man Thing was not a good movie. Neither was Swamp Thing, but, you know, Adrienne Barbeau. I had a huge crush on Adrienne Barbeau ever since watching Maude in the 70’s.

  • The Rev.

I have never seen either movie, although I did watch the show in high school.

If nothing else, I really liked the late Dick Durock in the title role.

  • I keep hoping they’ll do a movie version of the Alan Moore Swamp Thing. He;d probably make them take his name off it and say horrible things about it in interviews, though.

The Swamp Thing movie is actually pretty good, I think. It plays like one of those old Universal programmers of the 40s like Ghost of Frankenstein.

  • Rock Baker

I remember promos for the teleseries, and that’s about it. It ran on USA and lead to a running gag on MST3K. A Gamera movie that would list director Yuasa would prompt Crow to blurt “Do not bring your evil here!”

@Rock Baker: And in Attack of the Giant Leeches, which takes place in a swamp: “This is a swamp… should we bring our evil here?”

The First movie is good but not that good, the Sequel had the tone of the comics and was better.
