Monster of the Day #223

Well, really, that was just bound to happen.

Did they manage to kil the person (can’t make out if it’s a girl or a guy)? Their guns are so tiny, wouldn’t that be like being shot by a bb gun?

  • Well, BBs aren’t fatal because they lack lethal velocity. Admittedly, they would do less damage than a bullet, but after all shotgun blasts are just massed BBs, more or less, fired at such speeds.

I dug up a second photo and posted it, adding clarification.

  • I’m concerned that Ericb’s ethnically diverse neighborhood apparently has men who wear chartreuse belly-revewling vests.

Hey, these days you never know … and I did live in San Francisco for a year.

So, what is this from, anyway?

  • Rock Baker

I wonder if I saw this, something about this seems sorta familiar. I think it might be from a movie about a kid with an overactive imagination in what may’ve been a haunted house full of dolls. He imagined a killer teddy bear in the first reel. I couldn’t tell you the title to save my life, though.

If you follow this with something from the Puppetmaster movies, okay, but please don’t post a pic of the giant G.I. Joe from Xtro! The less recall I have of that movie, the better!

  • I don’t think it’s Stuart Gordon’s DOLLS, is it?

  • I’m fairly sure it’s Dolls. Haven’t seen the flick in an age. I remember being disappointed with it for some reason.

  • The Rev.

I haven’t seen Xtro, but I seem to recall animated toy soldiers being mentioned in a quickie review I read of it once. Maybe that’s it?

    I know it’s definitely a movie from the ’80s…

  • Rock Baker

Xtro has a subplot of sorts where a kid’s fantasies come to life. One scene has his G.I. Joe (grown to full size and played by either Tik or Tok) hunting down and stabbing to death a mean old lady.

So, is Dolls the movie I saw?

I think it’s about time for Ken to call this one.

  • Tis Dolls, via Mr. Stuart Gordon, both today and yesterday.

  • Rock Baker

Thanks, Ken. This was a really odd choice for daily monsters, I must say.

I Can’t remember, was this a haunted house movie?

  • That, too, is from Dolls.
