SALE OVER!

I talked up this show back when it was released earlier this year; as I’ve said, both the shows (aside from The Herculoids) I have for years and years most wanted to see hit DVD did in fact get released this year, the Jim Hutton Ellery Queen program, and Boris Karloff’s Thriller.

For today only Amazon is selling the former, probably the last great America whodunnit series (and arguably the best one ever) for 67% off, or only $20. That’s just an incredible bargain. Even better, each episode is just crammed with the sorts of guest stars that make programs from this era–here, the ’70s, such a blast for Viewers of a Certain Age.

Highly recommended, and at that price, even a good option for an emergency stocking stuffer.

I tried Nero Wolfe’s way of cooking corn on the cob ( roast it in the oven, with the leaves on, for 40 minutes at 350 F ) and its good. The only problem is you have to shuck it wearing oven mitts. If I ever have 45 minutes to spare at breakfast time, I might try his way of making scrambled eggs at very low heat.

Search for the James Bond scrambled egg recipe on the web. (I forget which book it appears in.) Its exactly the same kind of preparation, its easy to make and tastes great. Lots of fat from butter though so its not an everyday breakfast.
