Sale Over…

Actually, they’re also selling How I Met Your Mother at 62%, but only seasons 1-4, so surely you’d want the whole series if you want it, given that it’s basically telling one long story.

Anyway, I don’t remember a great deal about Daria (was there a Beavis and Butthead connection?), but I do seem to vaguely recall it as being pretty smart, ala King of the Hill, if not quite that good. Daria was a brighter than usual girl navigating her way through high school, take it from there.

So today it’s $26, 63% off the $73 MSRP. 8 discs with 26 hours of material.

Yes, Daria originally appeared in the Beavis and Butthead cartoons, though only on a handful of occasions.

    Daria fucking RULED.

Daria was a self-exiled outcast in a world that made no sense to her, and, aside from her best friend, she was surrounded by crazy people. Her parents and sister, her teachers and fellow students, all insane. She coped through deadpan sarcasm and the occasional bit of overt trolling.

So, if you the viewer were the least little bit of an outsider during high school, you felt a great upwelling of sympathy and affirmation. “I’m not wrong! It’s everybody else that’s crazy!” Not that any of us were as cool as Daria, but hey, we liked to hope.

  • But surely … if you thuink EVERYONE else is crazy, thsi pionts the big finger of potential madness at yourself.

  • The Rev.

My favorite part of Daria was her favorite TV show, “Sick Sad World.” Those were always funny. It was like the TV show the Weekly World News would make if they had one. They just show outros for it, but MAN that was good stuff. “Can worms help you lose weight? The Baby Bird Diet, NEXT on SICK SAD WORLD!!!” Stuff like that.

I also liked her artsy friend Jane. Actually more than Daria; her sarcasm tended to be less obvious.
