The definition of a good day…

So I came home last night, and turned on my TV, and there on TCM were two sailors sitting around in a boat.  After a minute I was like, “Is this…” and it was.  Yep, there on Sunday night prime time they were playing Monster the Challenged the World.  I mean, I have it on disc, but really, isn’t that the sort of thing you want to find on the screen every time you turn on your set (and rarely do, despite the myriad of cable channels?).

It took you a whole minute to figure it out?

  • Hey, there was no monster stuff going on, and I hadn’t seen the movie in some years. Also, I was checking my email and not really paying attention to the movie. Then a guy dived into the water, and didn’t seem to be coming back up, and then I thought monster movie, and then it clicked.

I was also slowed by the fact that TCM doesn’t normally (sadly) show monster movies on Sunday nights. I think they were maybe running a string of Hans Conried movies, which is why I love TCM.

Yeah, I caught that too. I caught it the last time they ran it, so I didn’t watch the whole thing, but still caught some monstser stuff. Good times.

Not much of a fan of Ted Turner but I love TCM!

TCM was probably the last great channel I watched when I had TV, although I was getting increasingly tired of the growing pretentiousness (yes, I’m sure I spelled it wrong, I admit I’m not perfect), something that never sat well with me. Before I had it all cancelled, it was pretty much TCM and Boomerang. Boy, I taped a lot of stuff off those channels!
