So I wasn’t expected to speed run through B-Fest 2025, but hey, few monsters. So on to Basement Fest 2025. Joe Bannerman, erstwhile B-Master and proprietor of Opposable Thumbs Films, hates us all deeply. Since we won’t let him show Things ever year (and he would), he picked Devil Story, a movie Chad R and I loathe. To our disgust, Jeff w and Galaxy Jane liked it. Ugh. At least that probably depressed Joe, since he only wants to hurt us.

At 75 minutes, Devil Story is about six hours of boring nonsense. The main baddie is a psycho who looks like a mutant Peter Boyle wearing a Nazi uniform, the latter probably being why there are so few stills of him on the Web. But hey, Extraneous Mummy!

    I also strongly dislike it. I was thrilled that Arthur showed it on a pre-T-Fest Friday that I was unable to attend as I'd already seen it once. Sadly, the bullet was not dodged this time.

    I did count the number of times the old man fired his shotgun at the horse, though, and came up with 49 (and then the lady fired it once more after that). If that tells you anything about my level of engagement with this crap a second time.

    I maintain that "Devil's Story" is the greatest Monster Chiller Horror Theater presentation ever. Count Floyd's attempts to sell it to his audience would be comedy gold. RIP Joe Flaherty.

  • Look at that nice woman out walking with her mummy. What a great daughter she is! But that mummy's too wrapped with her troubles with the father to enjoy the experience. Egypt her out of a small fortune. The woman, of course, is in de-Nile about it. But that's because she fell for the same pyramid scheme he did.

    Yeah, but he was out there for over 10 hours minimum. He hired a lot more than that. Not sure where he got all the shells.
