Criterion Sales at Barns & Noble…

I’m staying off because I just dropped $400 at the recent Vinegar Syndrome sale, and have a thousand dollar home bill, and another thousand dollar car bill, and am going to visit a con in a couple of weeks, and…I’m not broke, but it’s time to cut back for a while.

Anyway, B&N every year has a 50% all Criterion Collection sales. Lots of goodies, like that omnibus Godzilla collection, down 50%. The sale is onsite at their stores and on their website. If nothing else (and there’s plenty) I’d suggest adding the finest blu rays for M or My Man Godfrey or Haxan to your collection. Oh, and Fiend Without a Face.

  • Beckoning Chasm

Yeah, I saw that…50% off Criterion is good, except that it's Criterion so it's still really expensive.

  • Beckoning Chasm

Interestingly enough, a number of the entries they have are matched over at Amazon.

  • Beckoning Chasm

Got an email from Vinegar Syndrome…Reptilicus is coming to blue-ray.

  • Ken_Begg

I mean, this drops most titles down to $20 a title, which is pretty standard.

  • Ken_Begg

Yes, I'd say about 25% of the titles I checked at Amazon were offering the same discount. So that might be better for some people on select titles.

  • Ken_Begg

I saw that. I usually wait for them to go on sale after six months, but I might bite the bullet and pay the full (barely discounted) freight for this one. I mean…it's Reptilicus.

  • Eric Hinkle

When I do get a Criterion film, this is the time of year I wait for.

  • Ken_Begg

Exactly. You know it's coming. Criterion itself always has a flash sale every year also at 50% off, but again, it's a flash sale so it's easy to miss.

  • It's also uncut Reptilicus, which makes it a got to get.
