This is a meh movie. I remember that I watched it and didn’t care for it. That’s it.

So, this weekend’s watches were the 4K “Conan the Barbarian” from Arrow films, and the 4k “Exorcist III.” Both look great. Watching “Conan” I was struck by how small the story is. At least from Conan’s viewpoint. The music and the sweep of the film are epic and glorious, but Conan has no greater ambition than getting revenge. The fact that, at the end, he frees a bunch of cultists is irrelevant to him. He wanted to kill Thusa Doom and that was all he planned for. Still a beautiful film, with some surprisingly affecting moments from the non-actors–Sandahl Bergman’s speech about how she was afraid of dying alone and forgotten was very affective.
“Exorcist III” is an incredible film. It’s visually stunning and quite intellectual. It’s a shame William Peter Blatty only directed two films, and “The Ninth Configuration” is way too seventies to be considered anything other than a curiosity. “E3” is highly recommended.
Finished the evening with the Jonny Quest best episode, “The Invisible Monster.” It still holds up as great television. The monster itself looks like a UPA animation when it appears, and it’s kind of adorable. And you have to love how it left two parallel footprints when invisible, but put on a nice dress when it became visible.

God is dead. RIP Roger Corman.

It doesn’t even seem possible, does it? I mean, he was around for a very long time and making such delightful movies for so long.
One less giant walks the Earth.

Truly one of the best filmmakers ever.

Someone had a good line. Corman was budgeted to live to be 100 and came in at 98.

That’s hilarious, and you know he would have laughed the hardest.
