Monster of the Day #3488

It’s like they say, clothes make the gorilla.

We’ve seen this one before. Kind of hard to forget a cover like that.

    Nice monkey suit.

    Wise ass.

I might have used the same quote last time.

  • That gorilla’s going to toss that dude to his death in rage, but he’s not angry with the dude. He’s angry with himself. He meant to grab a chick and snagged the wrong wrist. One thing lead to another and he ends up here, where he always dreamed, only without the Fay Wray he always longed for. Sad, really.

and he does all this very quietly

  • Eric Hinkle

I will never cease to love the description of this book. A crusading reporter get mangled by mobsters, ends up with his brain in a gorilla’s body, and goes back to his job to bring his killers down. And he gets away with it by pretending he’s an eccentric who likes wearing a gorilla costume all the time.

It gets even more bizarre when you see that he’s more popular with women as a gorilla then he was as a human.

  • That just stands to reason, honestly.

If you go to Amazon, and type in “Barracuda” they say “Huh? Wha?” And if you type in “Godzilla Minus One” they say “Huh? Wha?”

(Actually I bet you’d get a lot of responses for barracuda. Certainly more than for Godzilla Minus One. )

“I meant to do this! Just like this. Planned it all, and it’s going great. You in the back, shut up, I’m warning you.”

Most reporters would be better with the brains of a gorilla.

This was the last time The Man in the Yellow Hat took Curious George to the opera….

  • Eric Hinkle

To paraphrase Mark Twain, “To give a reporter the brain of a gorilla would improve the reporter but degrade the gorilla.”
