    Not stupid, in fact, almost perfect: I watched my 4K disk of “Beetlejuice.” It’s one of those lightning-in-a-bottle films that couldn’t be remade. I really can’t think of a distracting flaw in it, it’s great from beginning to end. There’s been talk of sequels forever, and I kind of hope it never happens. Michael Keaton could probably pull it off, but I imagine everyone else is a bit too old. Alec Baldwin might have a shot, if he aimed for it.

  • Beckoning Chasm

    Tonight I watched “M3GAN” which I’m not really sure I know why I have. I think it was one of those “Buy 5 4K things and they’re cheap” and I wanted a fifth. Anyway, it’s fine, it’s basically “Child’s Play” without the supernatural (or Brad Dourif). It’s really predictable from the first moments on. After that, I started “Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom” which is really, really Jabootu territory. I’m surprised it hasn’t been reviewed already, alongside Star Trek V.

  • The sequel is coming. Tim Burton, Michael Keaton, and Winona Ryder are all coming back, with the girl from Wednesday playing Ryder’s daughter. It’s being called Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice.

    Yes, that’s coming out soon-ish. Can’t imagine they’ll pull it off, but I’ll be rooting for it.

  • So am I. Burton hasn’t come out with a movie I wanted to see in years, but I’ve nothing against him as a director. Nor do I have a beef with any of the cast. I hope this’ll be as big as the Top Gun Sequel.
