Announced Line-up of Aug Canton Monster Bash film fest….

The line-up for the annual Monster Bash Film Fest, held in the gorgeous-looking Palace Theatre in Canton OH on Aug 16 / 17th, has been announced. The theme this year is “Dinosaur,” so not a lot of surprises, but hey, classic Dinosaur moves on a big screen.

Friday, Aug 16th:

5:00 Gorgo
7:00  Journey to the Beginning of Time
9:00  The Land Unknown
11:00 The Valley of Gwangi

Saturday, Aug 17th:

3:00 The Lost World  (1925)
5:00 King Kong
7:00 Godzilla King of the Monsters
9:00 Dinosaurus!

There will be vendors selling monster stuff, and the event will end with a “free prize toss” on Saturday night at 11:00. So a good reason to hang around until the end, aside from getting to see Dinosaurus!

Meanwhile, it’s possible that some of us (me, GalaxyJane, Mr. Galaxy Jane, Jeff W possibly) will be attending the actual summer Monster Bash convention in Pittsburgh.

Details on all of the above can been found on the Creepy Classics website.

That sounds like a good lineup there.

  • My intent is to see this. Gorgo and Godzilla on the big screen is too much to resist. Whether I actually do or not is up in the air…

Looks like a fun line-up. Would love to be there, but alas, it’s this damn economy!

As an aside, watched the 4K version of “Shazam.” The only DCEU film that remembered that comic book movies should be fun. Picture looks terrific. To follow up, I watched “Terror of the Blood Monster Ghouls” on VHS. Just kidding, I watched the 4K of “Singin’ in the Rain,” which looks wonderful, and deserves its reputation.

That’s sort of where I’m at. It probably depends on whether I can hornswaggle someone to come in and do the driving. The event looks fantastic, though.

Speaking of joyful! Can’t beat Singin’ in the Rain.
