Back to life. Well, back to work today, anyway.
So two weekends ago we ran Basement Fest, the private event we started when B-Fest was shuttered for Covid. The first film was chosen by Joe Bannerman, who likes to films that are barely films, like Things. Since he “wasn’t allowed” to show that a second year, he picked Boardinghouse. This is a horror film from 1982 that has earned a footnote in history as the first film shot on video for a direct video release. It’s…not very good. It’s quite a bit better than Things, though.
Basically a guy who looks like Malcolm McDowell starts a cheap boardinghouse to surround himself with hot chicks. A monster or something kills them in slasher fashion. The monster turns out to be someone with psychic powers, however, lots of people in this have psychic powers, so she’s eventually stopped after, you know, everyone is dead. Anyway, it was a thing that existed.
