Damn you, procrastination and/or cheapness!

A good year ago or more I heard of a really bad vanity movie called The Room. It only seems to sell at Amazon, and is not available at Netflix. Having been burned so many times, I declined to buy the film, instead sticking it in my Amazon Want List, where it has languished since.

Now there’s a huge article–six full pages!–about it in this week’s Entertainment Weekly (Dec 19th), since it has apparently become The Rocky Horror Picture Show of the star set in Los Angleses. Needless to say, I’m bummed. Had I reviewed it when I first heard of it, I would have been able to proclaim myself ahead of the curve. Now whenever (if ever) I get around to it, it will be as another Johnny Come Lately.

Oh, well, if nothing else, maybe the disc gets a higher profile from this, and Netflix will pick it up.

Checked out the Variety review, and apparently EVEN HOLLYWOOD pwople think this film is self-indulgent!! How would they even know?

One review of “The Room” says its NOT AS GOOD AS “Manos, Hands of Fate”, which at least had sets and costumes and stuff.
