If there’s one thing the world’s been crying for (#2 would be a complete cure for Covid), it would be a good release of Yeti Giant of the 20th Century. Past releases looked like they were taken from VHS rips. Now with a reasonable amount of digital clarity, we can finally accurately and fairly judge that the special effects are indeed awful. Sadly, there are no extras–although since most of the other hundreds of Blu Rays I’ve bought this year have hours and hours of extras*, perhaps I shouldn’t complain.
(*For example: After spending over $500 over the years buying copies of the Kolchak TV series–not to mention the two films–I of course also bought the recent Kino Lorber Blu Ray set. Let’s say I actually watch that. 21 episodes, each with a commentary. So that’s got to be like 35 hours or more of viewing right there. There’s probably more stuff than that, but man, that’s enough, isn’t it? Also the new Night of the Demon Blu Ray had so many extras on it I burst out laughing when I saw the list of them on the back.)
