Watch Party tonight!!

Hey, everyone. There’s still time to join in the first (last?) Jabootu Amazon Watch Party, tonight at 9:00 EDT. I actually switched the movie, from a Larry Buchanan flick–hey, I wanted the first one to be genuine crap–to a film I stumbled on that I not only have never seen but never even heard of. So we’ll see how that goes. Anyway, if you are interested, send me your email address at ken@jabootu.com and we’ll add you to the invite list. Here’s your chance, after all these years, to finally tell me what a moron I am in real time!*

    It took me like ten years of watching SCTV to get that Count Floyd was being ‘played’ by stuffy news anchor Floyd Robertson. That still makes me laugh.

    There was a sketch where Earl Camembert did a tribute to Robertson (as he’d kicked booze) and he mentioned that he was “beloved by kiddies as ‘Count Floyd.'” I think that was the only time it was confirmed in the show. SCTV was great in how byzantine it could get, and how well written it was. We won’t see its like anytime soon.

  • How does this work? Will be be getting emails to join, or do I have to be logged in to Prime at a certain time and it will send me a notification or something?

    Me too. wondering as well. Getting nervous I’ll miss something just plain dreadful knowing others are suffering while I am watching re-runs of Gunsmoke ;-)

    Thanks to everyone who participated, it was quite fun. I need to learn to type, though. For anyone who didn’t make last nights, we’ll be trying it again in (probably) a few weeks. I’ll post the details once I check with everyone. It was pretty easy, I have to say. And again thanks to Jason for hosting.

    Sandy hasn’t been involved yet, and I’m not sure if Fridays are good with him. But he and Arthur P were attending a family event, so maybe they can make future ones.

    Just wondering but can you set up something like this for YouTube as well? Thinking a watch party in December for ‘The Star Wars Holiday Special’ would be a blast.

    If they have a feature like that, it would only be for YouTube paid subscribers, and I fear there are comparatively few of those.
