    I have this one, and Lord a’mighty is it ever bizarre. The villain finds hordes of giant cavemen, or something, in the caves of Appalachia and turns them loose to slaughter and plunder across the countryside so he can get rich. Or maybe just for gits and shiggles. It’s all very vague.

    The cavemen are all but superhuman — one soaks up 14 .45 automatic rounds from the Spider’s gun, takes a spear through the chest (as in it’s poking out on both sides), and gets their thigh bone broken, and they’re still fighting. The Spider wins of course, but just barely. Tens of thousands perish, trains and entire towns are massacred, and the monstrous horde is being gathered to strike at Manhattan — and that’s just halfway through the story!

    So does he actually shoot webs? I figured this was just a Shadow knock-off, but does he have spider powers of some kind?

    The Spider? He has no superpowers besides an unbeatable willpower. He shoots bullets from his pistols, not webs.

    He’s crazy accurate, but yes, he basically just shoots people to death. Lots and lots of people.

    OK, that’s what I originally thought, but in this image he has a web! Granted, there is nothing implying he actually spun it…

    This makes me think of the Monarch from Venture Bros, the butterfly-themed supervillain who knows nothing about butterflies! “Prepare to feel the sting of the butterfly!” “You’re tangled in the butterflies’ web!” etc.
