Monster of the Day #3239

“WAKE…UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUPPPPP!!!!!”

Mondays, am I right.

Anyway, we haven’t done a It’s on Amazon Prime week in a while, so let’s catch up on some of their offerings. This is The Unnamable, a story of some people who go to a spooky mansion, mostly to have sex, and are killed by a female demon. As you can tell from that description, it’s a VERY faithful adaptation of a HP Lovecraft story. There is a sequel but I don’t know if Prime has that.

Another one I watched about a year ago and it made such an impression on me that I can’t remember a single thing from it…

Was that Charles Band? He had a habit of sticking Lovecraft titles on anything with a running time and a poster.

  • Ken_Begg

Well, Band was the Roger Corman of the ’80s, and Lovecraft was his Poe.

  • I remember liking this one. Not enough to, you know, actively seek it out again, but enough to willingly watch the sequel.

  • Ken_Begg

Well, the reason I always compare Band to Corman is that his movies were a reliable rental back in the deal, always pretty solid.

Ah, yes, I recognize the movie now from the photo you posted. It was adapted from the Lovecraft story, “The Shadow Under Bigmouth.”
