“I’m not sure this is usable but it’s the title character of Lien Ni-Chang or ‘The Bride With White Hair‘ as played by the beautiful Brigitte Lin from the 1993 Hong Kong wuxia film of the same name. In the first film she’s a sympathetic villainess. In the second she’s more a supernatural force of vengeance and closer to my concept of a ‘monster’. They’re both beautifully filmed gorgeous movies and available on Amazon Prime.”

    Yeah, it does look like one in the photo! Mostly she kills people with her white hair. Hope you like it, they’re fun movies and the sets and cinematography are friggin’ gorgeous.

    Thanks Ken. And a big, big thank you to Cullen Waters. He recommended the ‘A Chinese Ghost Story’ movies on Amazon Prime. Watched and enjoyed all three of them and then the site recommended ‘The Bride With White Hair’ I and II so I checked them out too. All great fun films. THANK YOU!!!

    I got the CGS movies watched on Labor Day. If you’ve got Amazon Prime, they’re definitely worth a watch. Especially the first. It is just an utterly fantastic film. In fact, see it even if you don’t have Prime. Find a way. It is so worth it. There is a law of diminishing returns, but the second film manages to hold up well despite lacking the emotional draw the original had. The third is the weakest, but is still a good, fun movie.
    Looking forward to the Bride with White Hair movies, which are on deck for this weekend.

    Cool, I hope you enjoy them. I thought about picking up CGS on DVD. Funny, I actually enjoyed the third one more than the second.
