Monster of the Day #3077

One of the great recent finds at a T-Fest, courtesy of Sandy, was The Golden Bat, a 1966 crazy Japanese superhero movie that inspired near Ship or Monsters or Super Inframan levels of ecstasy.  And yept, it’s on YouTube. Also, Japanese junk media archeologist Kenny Lauderdale today released a fascinating short history of the character and his various adaptations. It’s available on his YouTube channel and well worth a look.

  • My first thought on seeing this image was it was taken from one of the Phibes movies. Spent entirely too long wondering which one.

    That was a fun movie. His Pimp Cane of Doom was a nice touch.

    Definitely worth watching. Would make a great double feature with Evil Brain From Outer Space, I think. I’d been waiting years to see it ever since Scott Foy put it on my radar, and it didn’t disappoint me.
