Monster of the Day #3059

It took the combined efforts of Irwin Yablans and Charles Band, and featuring Demi Moore in her first major role, Parasite (aka The Other Parasite) features little beasties threatening survivors in the post-apocalypse. So, yeah, it’s kind of ’80s. Oh, and it was made in 3-D, because of course it was. I’ve never actually watched this, maybe this weekend.

I watched it twenty years or so ago. I don’t remember much of anything about it other than it being clearly a 3-D film in the theatrical run since it’s constantly throwing stuff at the camera/audience. I have it on my Amazon Prime favorites so I should get off my duff and rewatch it.
I finally did get around to watching ‘That Guy: Dick Miller’ last night. Absolutely loved it, always liked Miller and I have even more respect for him now. Gee, married to the same wife for over fifty years in Hollywood must be some sort of record. And they even had a cool little dog at the time of the filming. Big thanks Ken for the tip!

Well, my cranky, old computer finally kicked the bucket last week so I had to buy a new one, which means I can finally watch this Youtube channel. So, how do I find it?

    Look for “Cult Cinema Classics.”

I watched it again last night. So-so film. I give it that I wanted to pause the film and grab something to eat and ended up sitting there watching to the 40 min mark before I did so. A lot of films I’d have paused it a lot sooner.

It was funny to watch some of the FX shoved in there for the 3-D effect like the monster falling from the ceiling!
