OK, so I’ll be down in Kentucky again next week through Wednesday. Hopefully it will be my last trip for a good while. So there won’t be any Monsters of the Day until I return.
I’ll come back up Wednesday (in my sister’s car, she’s driving) and then probably have to leave immediately because my friend Matt is showing The Right Stuff at the Pickwick that night. I’ve been kind of hounding him to show it for years now, so barring some emergency I pretty much have to go. I mean, I LOVE that movie, it’s just not the greatest night to go see a super-long film. Still, I’m an ass for complaining about it. I’m pleased to get to see it on a very big screen again.
Thursday offers no respite. I’m back to work, and then Thursday evening will be my one chance to see the Konasuba movie. It’s playing Tuesday as well but not in Hopkinsville KY surprisingly. Konasuba is a hilarious comedy fantasy anime, and I just rewatched the show to prep for the movie, and it really holds up. But since I’m also working Friday, I expect to be really to really crash next weekend.
Also playing next Thursday, and also from the fine folks at Fathom Events, is a marathon of six Twilight Zone episodes. Time Enough at Last, Walking Distance, The Invaders, The Monsters are Due on Maple Street, Eye of the Beholder and To Serve Man. Obviously I would go see that if it wasn’t the same night as the Konasuba movie (or if I were home on Tuesday so I could see both). I imagine some of you might find that of interest, though. Further details to be found at the Fathom Events website.
Other programs of interest they are doing this month:
Princess Mononoke: Sunday Nov 17 and and Wed the 20th for the dubbed version, Monday the 18th for the (for me) essential subtitled one.
Also on Tuesday Nov 26th they’ll show Never Surrender: A Galaxy Quest Documentary.
Anyway, have a great week everyone.
